NEGOA Membership Form

In Memory of Jay Pierce

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, the baseball community lost a great man and an awesome umpire. Jay was a former MLB, D1 college umpire, and evaluator for the Major League Baseball. Jay studied at Wendelstedt Umpire School, learning sports officiating of baseball. He attended Young Harris College studying recreation and history respectively. Jay umpired: Minor League Baseball, Division 1 college baseball, high school baseball as well as others. Jay was not only an excellent umpire but also a great mentor and trainer. He assisted a great number of umpires in becoming better at their jobs and achieving the success they desired. NEGOA's thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
